Please help with Paragraph Translation from book

Messaggio da Ross2014 »

Hello,

I was recently given a (blurry) image of a page from a book that is of interest for my family tree. There is a man named that is likely to be a distant ancestor.

I'm hoping someone can assist with the following information to further my research. I apologise for the clarity, but it's the only image I have.

1. Transcription and translation of the paragraph of interest
The highlighted paragraph is what I'm mainly interested in. As it's a bit blurry and sometimes hard to make out individual letters, I thought someone with better (than zero) knowledge of Italian might be able to ascertain what the words should be.

2. Suggestions for search terms to find the book
The image is the whole page from the book. As the image is a bit blurry, I'm also trying to find the book to get a better image. The person who provided the image couldn't tell me the name of the book, but did provide the Archive where it was found. To find it in the Archive, I'm after suggestions on what to search for based on the content of the page. I'm hoping a catalogue search will turn up some likely books to check.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ross

Hello,
welcome in this forum! :)

Here's the translation:
Friars of Sant'Antonio. The Urbario of 1438 as well as that of 1453? speak of a little bell bought by the friars of Sant'Antonio. In Urbario San Vittore of 1438, we read: a little bell bought by the friars of Sant'Antonio (Latin text).
In Urbario San Vittore of 1453?: a little bell bought by Messrs. Friars of Sant'Antonio for Jacobum Johannis de Vasela? (Latin text).
Similarly we find that Santa Maria and the Church of the Holy Trinity in Brusio had purchased some bells by the friars of Sant'Antonio. (Urbari of 1432?)

The Urbario is a book regarding land annuities or an inventory of church property.

Regards,
Erica

I've found an interesting document, an inventory of Church of San Vittore in Poschiavo (year 1438):

Thank you both so much for the transcription and translation (and welcome). It is greatly appreciated.

The inventory document looks like a sample of what might have been used as source material for the book.

To assist my search for the book, can someone please comment on the likely subject based on the page content? Does it look like a general church history or a discussion on church assets?

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,
Ross

It looks like the page of a thematic dictionary, so a general church and nunnery history, especially their origins.

In the first paragraph it's written about the Church of Santa Maria and appears a name list of rectors, mayors, notaries etc.
In the second it's written about a nunnery (Convento delle monache Orsoline) in Poschiavo perhaps also used as xenodochio.

Here you can find a series of books on the history of Poschiavo:

Could it be the page of one of these books?
