I'm looking for information on my 4x great-grandfather. His name was Domingo Negrotto, and he was born around 1774 in Genoa. By the early 1800s he was living in Gibraltar. Sometimes his name is written as Domenico. He was married to Brigida Balleto. His son and grandson were also named Domingo, which can make things confusing when trying to find information about him.

I've gone through everything I could find online, but I'm not coming up with much. Any advice on where to go next would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I think he was born in Varazze, so you should ask for his baptismal record to Savona Diocesan Archives (where are kept Santi Nazario e Celso parish registers) :

And the surname of his wife Brigida should be Baglietto not Balleto.
