Hi everyone, I'm Nara Garrido, from Argentina, and I'm trying to find my great grandfather birth certificate. I wrote to several comune but I actually don't have a specific clue of where he was born. His name was Juan Ballatore (Giovanni Ballatore) and he traveled from Genova to Argentina in 1887, when he was 20 y.o. The name of the ship was TIBET (there's a record of it in the internet, and he arrived to Argentina 4/11/1887.
His father was Francesco Ballatore and his mother Ana Pairella/Paiella/Paicella (in the handwriting I have the surname is not clear).
Since he left Italy at the age of 20, I think he was born at the end of 1966 or in 1867.
According to his surname, he should have born in Piamonte. Where? I don't know.
Please, if you could help me find the place where he was born, or his baptism, I'd really appreciate!!

Puoi postare qui i documenti in cui compare il nome della madre?

Ballatore è un cognome tipico piemontese, della zona del canavese.
Ci sono però anche altri ceppi di Ballatore sparsi in altre zone del Piemonte.
Come giustamente suggeriva mmogno, dobbiamo sapere come si chiamava la madre perché questo cognome non risulta.

Pairella l'ho trovato in un'unica citazione letteraria, ma senza riferimenti geografici
Paicella esiste , pare 1 famiglia sola, a Genova

Se il cognome della madre fosse Pairola, l'unico posto in cui esiste attualmente in Piemonte sarebbe Pinerolo.
