Hello everyone!

My name is Maria Clara, I am from Argentina. I’m looking for the birth certificate of my Italian ancestor Primo Carlos Antonio Cassi or Cassia. Please find below all details I found from him until now:

- He was married January 7th 1899, in Buenos Aires (Argentina). At that moment he was 28 years old (so he was born between 1869-1871). The certificate shows he was italian from PIACENZA, son of Luis Cassi (Luigi Cassi) dead, and from Josefa Barattini (Giuseppa Barattini) living at the moment in the same house of his son. Some doubts here: He first signed as “PRIMO CASSI”, but later they made some corrections in the certificate, and his new name was “Primo Carlos Antonio Cassia”. Another doubt is that I realized that he came to Argentina with his mother, but I don't find them in the immigration files.

- He married Adela Paveto, and had 7 sons, all born in Argentina. Their names were: Luis José Cassia (02/04/1900-xxx), Arturo Bartolomé Cassia (25/11/1901- 31/10/1961), Cesar Alberto Cassia (19/01/1904-06/08/1977), Armando Ricardo Cassia (1906-xxx), Ricardo José Cassia (1909-xxx), Eduardo Roque Cassia (13/04/1914-25/02/1995), Francisco Horacio Cassia (1920-1922).

- He died in 1946, July 27th, at the age of 75.

- In the birth certificate of his son, also he first signed as “Primo Cassi”, and then as “Primo Carlos Antonio Cassia”

- His profile is already in Family Search https://www.familysearch.org/tree/perso ... s/L63T-TSQ

- The Archivio di Stato di Piacenza from Portale Antenati is not ready yet.

- I sent mails to the state archives, to the commune and churches from PIACENZA. Some answered they didn't have anything, and others didn't respond.

- I made a manual search of the Leva files, but I did not succeed.

Please let me know if there is any extra detail you need from my end.

are you sure he was born in Piacenza?
First of all you must look for the exact birthplace, this can be an hamlet in province of Piacenza and not necessarily the city of Piacenza.

However on Family Search site are available church records of Piacenza as you can see here, the problem is that there are so many parishes :

The database of “Rubriche dei fogli matricolari” is not completed at the moment and I've found the surname Cassi in some hamlets like Pianello (many people), Nibbiano, Pecorara, Bettola, Rivalta, Pontenure, Coli, Borgo San Donnino, Vicomarino, Borgonovo and Piacenza (very few).

Which of these communes have you already asked? Only Piacenza?
