I am genealogist and heraldist from the Czech Republic. My ancestors arrived in 16.century from the territory today´s Italy. My oldest ancestor was nobleman and businessman Jacobo Ciriani. He was „nobilis italus“. I found the oldest message about him in the city Trnava (Slovakia) from year 1583. At that time here lived a small Italian community.

I don´t know from where he arrived. I have a question. Do you know some italian noble family Ciriani?

Se questi Ciriàni provengono dal Friuli, l’origine è certamente il paese di Manazzons, frazione di Pinzano, però non erano nobili ma, sembra, commercianti di granaglie:

anno 1551 – Daniel figlio di Cirian quondam Jacobo figlio di Daniel, da Manazzons. (Questo Ciriàn potrebbe aver avuto anche altri figli e certamente il primo figlio maschio portava, secondo gli usi, il nome del nonno cioè Jacobo. Quest'ultimo nel 1583 poteva avere 30-35 anni di età).

anno 1589 – Antonio Ciriani q. Daniel, da Manazzons, compra granaglie da Antonio Zuz di Pinzano.



Esistevano invece in Friuli i nobili Cipriani, di cui il conte del Torso ha redatto la genealogia:

If these Ciriani came from Friuli, the origin is certainly the village of Manazzons, fraction of Pinzon, however they were not noble but, apparently, they were merchants of grain:

year 1551 - Daniel son of Cirian quondam Jacobo son of Daniel, from Manazzons. (This Ciriàn may have had other children, and certainly the first male child had, according to usage, the name of his grandfather that is Jacobo. The latter in 1583 could have 30-35 years of age).

year 1589 - Antonio Ciriani q. Daniel, from Manazzons, buys grain from Antonio Zuz of Pinzano.

In Friuli there was also a noble family, the Cipriani, of which the Earl of Torso drafted the genealogy:

It's very interesting. My ancestor Jacobo was a businessman, maybe also with the grain.
His probable age of 30 years is appropriate. He could receive Nobility up later.

Other my ancestor Antonio Ciriani was in 1601 awarded during the siege of the city of Belgrade.

I will write dr.Tamburlini into Udine. I look forward to more surprises.
