Thanks to the wonderful people on this forum (especially Erica "Ery1") I have found a lot of information about my family from Lucca Province.

I have a few ancestors that seem to disappear, so if anybody can help find any of them for me I would be most grateful.

They originated from either Alpe di Stazzema and Colognora, Pescaglia in Lucca.

I have checked the marriage / death records for both towns as far as Familysearch has them but they don't seem to be there.

A couple of ancestors show up in Pietrasanta.

Maybe they died in Lucca hospital, but I can't find an index for Lucca so searching each page would take forever.

I am looking for death (and in some cases marriages) for:

1. Children of Iacopo Mazzei and Maria Rosa Guazzelli:

Stella Mazzei - born c.1821 in Stazzema. Last mentioned in Colognora in 1843. Can't find marriage or death in Pescaglia or Stazzema.

Maria Florinda Mazzei - born Colognora in 1823. Can't find marriage or death in Pescaglia or Stazzema.

Angela Mazzei - born Colognora in 1825. Can't find a marriage or death in Pescaglia or Stazzema.

Maria Diomira Mazzei - born Colognora in 1826. Married Giuseppe Domenico Raimondo Ricci in Colognora in 1843. Last mentioned in Colognora in 1852. Can't find her death.

2. Husband and children if Maria Diomira Mazzei:

Giuseppe Domenico Raimondo Ricci - last mentioned in Colognora in 1852.

Filippo Luigi Ricci - born in Colognora in 1844 - can't find a marriage or death.

Maria Eufemia Ricci - born Colognora 1848. Can't find a marriage or death.

Costantino Ricci - born Colognora in 1852. Can't find a marriage or death.

3. Children of Luigi Mazzei and Maria Rosa Lombardi:

Maria Erminia Mazzei - born Colognora 1838. She died between 1838 and 1849 but no record in Colognora.

Maria Adelaide Mazzei - born Colognora 1844 - married Ginese Frati in 1875. Last mentioned in Colognora in 1888. Can't find death.

Maria Erminia Mazzei - born Colognora in 1849. Can't find a marriage or death.

Giovanni Mazzei - born Colognora in 1852. Last mentioned in England in 1925 but may have returned to Italy and died.

4. Child of Pellegrino Mazzei Caterina Viviani:

Rosa Angela Mazzei - born Stazzema c.1794. Married Giovanni Lorenzo Bertellotti in 1821. Giovanni died in Pietrasanta in 1869. No record of Rosa death in Stazzema, Pescaglia or Pietrasanta.

5. Children of Giovanni Lorenzo Bertellotti and Rosa Angela Mazzei:

Maria Domenica Bertellotti - born Stazzema 1823. Can't find marriage or death.

Giovanni Tommasso Bertellotti - born Stazzema 1826 - can't find a marriage or death.

Giovanni Angelo Bertellotti - born Stazzema 1830 - can't find a marriage or death.

Brigida Bertellotti - born Stazzema 1831 - can't find a marriage or death.

6. Child of Bartolomeo Barsi and Francesca Silicani:

Lorenzo Barsi - born Stazzema c.1787. Married Lucrezia Mazzei in Stazzema 1819. Last mentioned in Stazzema in 1831. His wife died in Pietrasanta in 1884 but can't find Lorenzo death in Pietrasanta, Stazzema or Pescaglia.

7. Children of Lorenzo Barsi and Lucrezia Mazzei:

Caterina Barsi - born Stazzema in 1823. Can't find marriage or death.

Ottavia Rosa Barsi - born Stazzema 1829. Can't find marriage or death.

Agasito Barsi - born Stazzema 1831. Can't find a marriage or death.

8. Children of Pietro Gaetano Mazzei and Rosalba Bertellotti:


Luigi Assunto Mazzei - born Stazzema 1829. Can't find a marriage or death.


Giovanni Giuliani Mazzei - born Stazzema 1831. Can't find a marriage or death.

Angiolo Mazzei - born Stazzema 1837. Can't find marriage of death.

Placido Mazzei - born Stazzema 1838. Can't find marriage or death.

Hi again

I think I have found the death of Giuseppe Domenico Raimondo Ricci in Colognora - 22nd April 1860 (aged 44 years).

It doesn't give wife's name (Maria Diomira Mazzei), but the fathers' name is correct so I think it is him.



I am still looking for help on the rest
