Tessari Zalin Family

Good day,

I am searching for the birthplaces and parents (and possible siblings)

of my great-great-great-grandparents Modesti Tessari and Angela Zalin from Roana.

Their son, Johann Tessari, was born on May 20, 1866, in Camporovere.

He has at least one brother, Jakob Tessari, born in 1859 in Camporovere, who married Lina Elisabeth Ostholt.

The Tessaris are believed to have originated from a town in the province of Vicenza, in the Asiago Plateau.

I would be grateful for any help or information.

PS: I already tried contacting the church in Roana. Would I perhaps need to contact an office, archive, or church in Vicenza or Asiago to find out the place in Vicenza where Modesti is supposedly from?

Or find out where they married?

Or where they died?

Angela Zalin is from Roana, so there could be several provinces where she was born, right?

Secondo il tuo albero, Giacomo sarebbe nato il 28-6-1859 a Camporovere, la data è sul documento di matrimonio?
Ci sarebbe anche una figlia Anita, che è emigrata, rimasta in Italia?

I'll check my family tree again so I can post the documents here.

Giacomo Tessari, born June 28, 1859, in Camporovere, is definitely the brother of my great-great-grandfather Johann Tessari.

I'll link the pages where I got the information.

He was married to Lina Elisabeth Ostholt.

(She was the daughter of Friedrich Ostholt and Mina Wöbel/Voebel).

Then the other children are also confirmed, and thus the other siblings of Johann Tessari (born 1866, my great-great-grandfather):

Anita and
Antonio.

Do I understand correctly that Anita Tessari might have emigrated?

Or stayed in Italy?

I only know that an Anita Tessari is among my ancestors through family stories.

That would confirm it, if Anita is the sister of my great-great-grandfather Johann.

I only listed Modesto's parents as a possible match, based on FamilySearch and Ancestry.

So it's not confirmed yet.

The same applies to Giovanni.

I'll try translating my documents into Italian.

So, document number 5, where Jakob (Giacomo) (son of Modesto Tessari and Angela Zalin)

married Lina, daughter of Friederic and Mina Voebel/Wöbel, on July 22, 1882, in Berge, matches a marriage record.

Seguendo le indicazioni di cannella55 ecco l’atto di morte di Angela, la moglie di Modesto Tessari. Ancora una volta infallibile.
Scopriamo che Zalin era il soprannome dato alla famiglia e che Tessari era il cognome alla nascita, come riportato nell’atto di morte di Modesto.
In quelle zone era molto comune dare un soprannome alle famiglie quando i cognomi si ripetevano, proprio per distinguere una famiglia da un’altra. Questo “detto” veniva tramandato da padre in figlio.

A questo punto si potrebbe considerare l’atto di morte di Modesto come quello del tuo antenato anche se rimane un dubbio sulla differenza di età tra Modesto ed Angela. +/- 20 anni.
Nato circa nel 1808 avrebbe già avuto circa 50 anni alla nascita del figlio Giacomo nel 1859.
Sarebbe da controllare se Modesto si fosse già sposato prima.

Would one have to look for a possible other/further death certificate of a Modesti Tessari who was married to Angela Zalin?

Or for their place of marriage and certificate?

I'm also not entirely sure about the age difference; whether that's correct/could be right.

But with my other ancestor couple, there's also, for example, a 19-year age difference, and the wife was later remarried.

That's a good point to check if Modesti was married before.

I'll try to look into that as well.

Intanto facciamo chiarezza, semplificando, visto che non capisci l'italiano

Modesto Tessari e Angela Tessari( detta, cioè soprannominata "Zalin".Vuol dire che in paese il cognome Tessari era comune e portato da molte famiglie.Per i distinguere i vari rami, si usavano i soprannomi, quindi il VERO cognome di ANGELA era TESSARI)
Queste persone, secondo le informazioni su Familysearch,ma SENZA AVER VISTO tutti i documenti, avrebbero avuto come FIGLI

GIACOMO
ANITA

GIOVANNI non è comparso subito, cioè io non l'ho ancora trovato,ma non ho guardato ancora bene

ANITA ho chiesto a te se fosse rimasta in Italia o no, io non lo posso sapere.
Per ora l'unico documento che abbiamo visto è quello trovato da Langhedoc e la fotocopia del tuo in tedesco.
Altro non c'è, almeno per ora
