Da alcuni anni sto ricercando gli Zappella originari della Valle Cavallina in provincia di Bergamo e poi sparsi in vari paesi del mondo, passando tantissimo tempo (quello libero naturalmente) negli archivi parrocchiali e nei cimiteri. Avendo ultimato l'analisi dei dati raccolti in Italia su oltre mille persone (ho tentato di ricostruire anche gli alberi delle femmine), ho proseguito nelle ricerche in Svizzera e Francia, data la conoscenza della lingua. senza però completare il tutto. Ora, la mia fidanzata si è stancata di visitare cimiteri (quelli francesi sono immensi) e chiedo se qualcuno può darmi un aiuto per avere notizie sugli Zappella che sono emigrati negli USA e sudamerica e magari anche in Europa in luoghi che io non ho ancora esplorato (Marsiglia e in Svizzera francese dove degli Zappella miei parenti hanno giocato a calcio sino alla nazionale). Grazie, siete veramente splendidi e non ho parole per esprimere la mia gratitudine soprattutto pensando al tempo passato su ancestry, nella parte gratuita, a decifrare una lingua che non conosco. Alcuni zappella che avete indicato sono collegati al mio ceppo, in particolare quelli partiti dal nord Italia e dalla Francia, mentre quelli del centro sud non sono ancora riuscito a capire se sono originari della bergamasca dato che nelle pergamene ho trovato degli zappella a bergamo già dal 1236. Nei prossimi giorni completo l'analisi dei dati e vedo gli individui da approfondire. Grazie ancora ed un saluto Marco Zappella.

Ho esaminato i dati che mi avete mandato e sicuramente sono legati alla mia ricerca Zappella Francesco con il fratello Andrea (Andrè il primo viaggio) e Antonette che mi è sconosciuta dato che lo stesso Andrea mi risulta sposato due volte in Svizzera; non ho invece informazioni sul matrimonio di Francesco e sui figli se non un matrimonio nel 1960 con Del Grosso Mary a New York, ma devo trovare il riscontro certo. Per quanto riguarda gli altri Zappella, mi servirebbe approfondire quelli originari di Endine (Antonio e Pietro), Battista di Borgo di Terzo, che è incluso nei miei alberi e Giuseppe coniugato con Carolina Pezzetti, sbarcati da Genova il 29 novembre 1949 a New York. Il manifesto di sbarco di Antonio (dal Canada agli Stati Uniti) si legge malissimo, te lo posto così magari tu riesci a decifrare il luogo di provenienza .....
Se il manifesto corrisponde allora ciò significa che Antonio (listato per la guerra nel 1917) torna in Italia e ritorna in America nel 1920....
nella seconda pagina del manifesto noterai che il luogo di nascita si legge bene: Endine.
Se è lui la madre dovrebbe chiamarsi Vetali Pierina, ti risulta?
Si recava a Braddock in Pennsylvania per ricongiungersi al cugino Vitale Giovanni.
Probabilmente è rimasto negli Stati Uniti perchè sul suo nome (nella prima pagina) trovi le annotazioni fatte successivamente quando l'immigrato chiedeva la naturalizzazione Americana:

My grandfather, Frank Zappella, came from Italy (the town of Bergamo, near the Swiss border) via Switzerland in the early 1900s. I cannot remember the exact year off hand, but he was born in 1890 and did not go through Ellis Island as his family had an import/export business. He came to NY with his older brother and sister-in-law as part of the business. In Italy he was raised with, I believe, 16 siblings, as well as several (4, I think) cousins that his mother had taken in. If I recall correctly, one of his older brothers was named Gaetano. My grandfather and father have both passed away, but not before passing on the family name. All of the Zappellas in NJ (as listed on this site, plus more not listed) are my immediate family, as well as several listed for NY. I grew up thinking we were the only family in this country with this name, so it is odd for me to see so many others.
