Alberto Lucchesi - born Lucca 1878

Alberto Lucchesi (born Lucca 1878) emigrated to the UK as an Ice Cream Vendor.

There is no record of his immigration.

He married an English woman called Annie Jones in London 1900. His father is noted as Ellis Lucchesi on the marriage.

I'm guessing Ellis is probably English for Alessio or Eliseo.

I've searched the birth indexes for Lucca town (1870's) and the only Alberto Lucchesi born in or near 1878 has parents Romualdo Lucchesi and Teresa Massagli, so I don't think this is the correct one:

I did find a birth in Lucca in Lucca 1876 of a Maria Maria Caterina Lucchesi who's parents are Alessio Lucchesi and Clementina Quilici.

These parents would be a perfect fit for Alberto, as he called his eldest daughter Clementina.
But there is nothing in the birth indexes for him.


I started to search births further afield into the towns of Lucca Province but I haven't located him.

Can anybody please help me to find Alberto Lucchesi's birth - born Lucca about 1878 - father Eliseo or Alessio.

(He anglicized his name to Albert Lucas and died in London in 1958 aged 80).

Sull'atto di nascita risulta che Alessio era residente non a Lucca,ma in un comune, che non capisco., forse Casciana, una frazione di Camporgiano,ma non conosco i paese e allora...
